REGISTRATION
What is the Chinese School registration policy (2010 - 2011 School Year)?
  • You must first set up an online account with CACC.
  • One family, one account. Multiple families cannot share an account. (A family refers to a nuclear family consisting of parents and their children with grandparents of a marital partner, who live in the same household.)
  • Registration before the deadlines is offered online.
  • The first 2 weeks of registration is a priority period for existing students and CACC executive members. After that, registration is open to everyone. Registration dates will be posted on our website.
  • There is a $30 nonrefundable registration fee for each family per school year.
  • The balance should be paid in full within 14 days of the initial sign-up date or an unpaid registration will be canceled, and the space will be released automatically. After school starts, the grace period for a payment is 7 days.
  • The school reserves the right to change or cancel classes. A full refund will be issued under such circumstances.
  • Online registration deadlines: High school Chinese and AP classes – 09/15/2010; Chinese language classes (Preschool - 8th grade, and Chinese for non-native speakers) – 10/31/2010 ; enrichment classes – 12/31/2010.
  • After the online registration deadlines have passed, you must come to the office to register for the classes.

What is the minimum age for a child to attend a class?
Usually the minimum age to attend the Pre-K Chinese class is 4 years old, and the minimum age to attend an enrichment class at level 1 is 5 years old.
What are the age ranges for beginner and intermediate enrichment classes?
Generally speaking, children aged 5 to 8 are beginners, and 8 or older would be intermediate. Please keep in mind that each child is a unique individual. We strongly recommend parents choose classes according to a child’s ability and maturity.
How do I determine my child's Chinese level?
For current students, we suggest that you talk to your child's teacher to find out the appropriate level for your student. In addition, you can refer to our Chinese Language Syllabus to get a general idea. We have a placement test for High school Chinese courses (Chinese II, III, IV, AP) before school begins. On the first day of school, most Chinese classes will conduct a skill level assessment. Adjustments can then be made according to the assessment results.
